    Change of Clothes

Poor black man with stains up and down his shirt
He ain't got no change of clothes
And he ain't got no time to worry ‘bout no climate change,
Or no retirement fund when he gets old
He wear his jacket outside and in
Cause the man gone and turn off his heat
Take a walk on down to the liquor store
Ain't no grocery store round her to get his eats

Don't matter what you say, don't matter what you say
The change around us may be here to stay
Don't matter what you do, unless you follow through
The old gray suit gonna get us all at the end of the day

Well to do, grown up lobby man
Drop a nickel in the poor man's cup
He don't mind so much about the rising price of gas
He only profits as the price go up
He do his job so damn well, got all the suits under his spell
And a plan that no one knows
He got his smarts, a six-figure job, a hot model he call his wife and a dog
But he ain't got no change of clothes

Don't matter what you say, don't matter what you say
The change around us may be here to stay
Don't matter what you do, unless you follow through
The old gray suit gonna get us all at the end of the day

And maybe this is all a hoax
    Maybe I'm lying to you
But if we go and change our clothes anyways
We'll find a better world to be born into

Don't matter what you say, don't matter what you say
The change around us may be here to stay
Don't matter what you do, unless you follow through
The old gray suit gonna get us all at the end of the day

And it don't matter where you come from
    Don't matter who you are
    Don't matter about your income
Of if you drive a big, fat car
    Don't matter about no skin
Or the clothes you're right now in
All we need is a change clothes.

    Pass It By

This is a call to action
This is a call to move
This is a call to enthrall you
This is a call to impove
You’ve heard this call for years now
    You simply tuned it out
But now we're calling your name, my friend
We need your help if we're gonna make this work

    Don't you pass it by
    Give making change a try
    Don't need more reasons why
So don't you pass it by

We've been watching the cracks grow
    We've seen the melting ice
We've seen the shortage of resource
    And the rising price
I know you are not indifferent
You just don't see where you fit
Raise your hand and join us
All our voices just reinforce each other

    Don't you pass it by
    Give making change a try
    Don't need more reasons why
You hear us getting louder, and louder, and louder, and louder

Until one day soon The rattle of the cages bring the old worlds tumbling down, down, down
    And you can be sure
That without you here things would have been harder

    Don't you pass it by
See all those things you buy
    No they won't pacify
So don't you pass it by

    Soul Revolution

    Alone, soft couch
Outside it's a cold, hard night
    Warm glow of the TV
    You know I'm doing alright
Stack of grease stained pizza boxes
Where I set down my drink
In the safety of my living room
Got a chance to finally think a little bit
Morning's aspirations tugging at my brain
Try another channel, but they’re always the same
I'm just one man, gotta take what I can
Trapped in a system that defines who I am
I just watch a few more
    Drink a few more
    Fill up the void
    And smoke a few more
Fall asleep, detached from the world

I need a soul revolution to feel my power
The whole world must face its defining hour
I need a soul revolution, the time is now or never

Dawn's light, kept out by my blinds
I got a warm bed, keeps the cold, out of my mind
    It's warm enough inside
To forget about those who are freezing
An alarm goes off and you know what it's saying
It says, “Son, you better start believing”

In a soul revolution, better start believing
    Soul revolution

Time to wake up and return to the world
Come out from undercover start facing one another
Had too much guilt and fear to look a stranger in the eye
To learn that he's your brother, and without him you will die
Over six billion souls sharing one home
Most of us hungry, defeated, alone
Slaving away with no reward, no plan
All the while our destiny is out of our hands

We need a soul revolution we have the power
The whole world must face its defining hour
We need a soul revolution, the time is now or never

Millions of communities, uniting every day
An overwhelming force, trying to find its way
Fighting all the symptoms of a common cause
As we learn we're not above the planet's natural laws

We need a soul revolution, to unite us all
    Unite us all, soul revolution

      Soul, what brings us together
(waiting too long, waiting too long, waiting too long)
    Soul, the power of will
    Soul, what makes us human
Soul, is the energy coming up within

This is a soul revolution? Our purity of spirit and capacity for greatness?
Soul is what we all have in common and what makes us individuals??
If you've gotta soul baby, you've got a role to play.?
Let go of that remote and take back control today??
The soul of humanity is creative, moral, and incredibly powerful and it must be set free!
Set your self free, this is a revolution!?
Let go of your fear Embrace your compassion
    Let go of despair

    One Sky

Let me tell you about a kid I know
    Jaylin from JP
He's breathing dirty air from the factory, where his daddy got laid off
    Ain't got no lunch money
Well, school it ain't no consolation, just frustration
Ain't enough books, to go around here

      It’s time to come together
Cause too late, is already near

      One sky
We share today, with all mankind
    One sky
Shared yesterday, until the end of time
One sky, for everyone for every day, one chance to change our ways

I know a girl named Destiny
    From Palm City, FLA
The roof was ripped right off her home
    By a nasty hurricane
Now she's living in a car she's barely holding on
Too young to have so much fear

      It’s time to come together
Cause too late is already near

      One sky
We share today, with all mankind
    One sky
Shared yesterday, until the end of time
    One sky
For everyone, for every day, one chance to change our ways

Been going the wrong way, for far too long
This tide has got to break
Waves of devastation or transformation, the choice is up to us
    Our future's what's at stake
The government says you gotta buy a new TV
But who's gonna buy a new earth
They tell us to buy a new ark
Oh, Noah, what you think that's worth
    Let’s all show our children
    A better way to live
    So we can last
    Ten thousand years

      It’s time to come together
Cause too late is already near
      One sky
We share today, with all mankind
    One sky
Shared yesterday, until the end of time
    One sky
For everyone, for every day, one chance to change our ways
    One sky
    We share today
    One sky
    Shared yesterday
    One sky
    Under the sun
    One sky
    For everyone
    One sky
We got to find a way
    One sky
    To make a change today
    One sky
    Let's come together, baby
    One sky
    I wanna hear you say
    One sky
For everyone, for every day, one chance to change our ways.

    It's Something

I heard that you were on your own
Saturday night and you got so stoned
But you don't feel high you feel alone
Ate all the sweets your mama left for you
Try to read a book but that's not what you really want to do
Try to shake away these lonely blues
    Shake 'em up, yeah

      So what you're looking for
    It's something
Take all that built up pain, and turn it around
    What you're looking for
    It's something
    You can't find by yourself.

Got more than one voice in your head
You make up your mind, and then you don't instead
The name of this game is called unrest, yes
Searching the time for a release
So the pain on your insides can finally cease
So you're burning desires can find a place to breathe
    Let 'em breathe, yeah

      So, what you're looking for
    It's something
Take all that built up pain, and turn it around
    Said, what you're looking for
    It's something
    You can't find by yourself

      Yeah, what you're looking for
    It's something beautiful
    What you're searching for
    Is something true
Take all that built up pain
    And just turn it around
    What you're looking for
    It's something
    You can't find by yourself

      Now what you're looking for
    It's something
You can't find it by yourself

Now what you want to do
Is walk over to your front door
And I don't mean your back door
    I don't mean your window
    And with an open heart
    And an open mind
Walk over to the first person you see
Walk over to the first person you see
    Gotta say hello
    Say hello
    To the beautiful people

      We're all beautiful people
    With so much to say
And all I got to say is
    Hey, hey, hey
    We're all wonderful people
    With so much to give
And all I want to say is
    Live! Live! Live!

      It's something
You can't find it by yourself.

About This Album

Embrace Your Energy Revolution is our first record inspired by the environmental justice movement. Since our first rally on the Boston Common we had been taking part in more and more actions and we began to feel a strong call to write music to express what we were witnessing. Each band member, including our original drummer and co-founding member Kevin Jensen, wrote songs reflecting our individual experience getting involved in something much bigger than us.

We wanted to use our new record to create some real action. We found our opportunity when we learned about the national power vote campaign. Young organizers across the country were using the 2008 election to bring the issues of clean energy and climate change to the forefront of the national conversation. We dedicated our record to this cause and used all of the proceeds to fund our “Power Vote Tour,” performing at colleges and rallies across the east coast adding our energy and music to this rapidly growing movement.

All songs by Melodeego except 'Pass It By' by Kevin Jensen

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Kiel Williams and Rick Moore at Ginstache Studio except "It's Something" recorded by Chris Reckert and Charles Holbrow at Longview Farm Studios
